Necessary materials
- threads (woolen yarn, floss, cotton threads);
- needle;
- scissors;
- glue.
Creative crafts from threads step by step
There are many different techniques with which you can craft a variety of decorative elements and even paintings from thread scraps.
Topiary - The Tree of Happiness
For example, you can make such an elegant topiary. To do this, you need to prepare: a ball of thread (can be made in the same way that is recommended below for making animals and birds), a stick for the “trunk” of a tree or wire, glue, a small pot, a filler (pebbles, coffee beans or large beads), as well as jewelry ("leaves", "flowers", feathers, beads).
- First you need to attach the ball to the stick in any convenient way.
- Then the "trunk" must be installed in the pot and fill the filler there.
- The resulting product can be decorated to your liking using a variety of decorative elements.
Pompom toys
Of the remnants of wool yarn, many love to craft fluffy animals. To do this, you first need to make pompons of suitable sizes, from which figures will subsequently be composed. From pompons of various sizes, parts of the body of birds or animals are obtained.
Chick
If you use yellow yarn, you can create a cute chicken in this way. To do this, you just need to glue two pompons with a glue gun, and then draw out the eyes and beak. By this principle, you can also make a dog, cat or frog.
Advice! This fascinating hobby can be shared with children, since children's pens can easily craft simple crafts from the remains of yarn for knitting and thread for embroidery.
If you approach this process creatively, you can craft interesting decor items, original gifts, and funny toys from dusting dust left in the closet.
Animals (birds) from threads
To make voluminous openwork toys from thread balls, you need to prepare threads, balloons of different sizes, scissors, a small container and PVA glue.
- It is necessary to inflate the balloon to the desired size (larger for the body, smaller for the head of the figure), then coat it with sunflower oil or greasy cream (to make it easier later to separate the frame from the threads).
- Pour glue into the prepared container, stir it and immerse the threads there.
- Squeezing out the excess glue, the threads soaked with them need to be wound around the ball in an arbitrary order, after which the thread should be cut off and twisted its tip for fixing.
- The ball wrapped in threads must be completely immersed in glue, then gently squeeze the excess and leave to dry completely, until the thread frame becomes sufficiently rigid.
- After that, the ball must be pierced with a needle and pulled out through a suitable hole in the openwork frame.
Thread paintings
If there are many thread trimmings of various shades available, you can create an original picture from them.
- It is necessary to draw the outline of the selected pattern on the cardboard. If you have a ready-made template, you can just stick it on cardboard.
- Yarn of suitable shades should be cut with scissors into very small pieces and laid out for convenience in separate boxes.
- Those fragments of the picture for which you need to use one of the shades, need to be thickly greased with glue and sprinkled with chopped threads, then firmly press them to the cardboard. Excess should be blown away or shaken off.
- By the same principle, you need to draw up the remaining fragments of the picture. When the image is completely covered with yarn, the picture will need to be inserted into the frame.
You can make beautiful flowers from floss. To work, you need threads of the desired shade, a piece of newspaper (for stocking), wire and sharp scissors.
- It is necessary to form blanks for flowers. To do this, you have to crumple a piece of newspaper, giving it the shape of a ball.
- A thread pre-impregnated with glue should be wound on the resulting ball, avoiding the formation of empty areas. When the ball reaches the desired volume, let it dry completely.
- After a few hours, you should carefully trim the excess with scissors, while at the same time giving the ball the shape of a flower. Similarly, make the required number of flowers.
- Carefully thread the wire into the resulting buds, thus securing each flower to it. The fastener location can be masked with a large bead.
- To arrange the wire in the form of a stalk, it is necessary to wrap it with a green thread soaked in glue and leave it to dry completely.
Advice! From several of these flowers you can make a beautiful bouquet. Using a combination of different sizes and shades, you can create spectacular compositions.
