But your cashmere coat has treacherous spots, it’s a deep night in the yard, and in addition, there is too little money in your wallet to use dry cleaning services. And yet you should not panic. How to remove stains on cashmere
Start cleaning with the most important thing - a thorough inspection of the product. To do this, you need a hanger and a well-lit place. Examine every centimeter of fabric so you don’t miss a single spot, scuff or greasy. Collar, pockets, cuffs - problem areas of any outerwear, pay special attention to them.
The next step is to study the product tag. It contains recommendations for caring for the item, permissible temperature values during washing. After that, choose a cleaning method based on the nature of the pollution of the thing.
Grease stains
With such pollution on a light thing, your best helper is children's talcum powder. Sprinkle a dirty place on them and wait a while. Talcum will pull all the fat on itself. You just have to shake off the powder with your hand. If the first time the effect seems insufficient, repeat the procedure again.
To get rid of spots on a dark coat, moisten a cotton pad with gasoline and treat the contaminated area. Then wash the item in cool water and dry it. Use a soap solution to remove gasoline odor.
There is another, less popular way. Apply dishwashing gel to a wet sponge, wipe it with a greasy stain, collect the remaining cleaning agent with a damp cloth and dry the cloth with paper towels.
Fighting Complex Stains
To win the battle with "difficult" spots, follow these rules:
- remove stains fresh;
- do not rub the contaminated area so as not to damage the fibers;
- always test the cleaning agent before using it;

How to clean a cashmere coat at home
Home cleaning can be dry and wet. The first is suitable for daily care of a thing when pollution is minimal - dust or small debris. Dry powder, spray, abrasive products are applied to clothes, after which they are cleaned with a soft brush or a reusable sticky roller. Wet cleaning is usually steaming the coat, washing by hand according to the instructions on the tag, or cleaning using liquid products (solutions, stain removers, fabric softeners) and a damp sponge.
IMPORTANT! To eliminate contamination of an unknown origin, use a universal remedy. Mix in equal proportions glycerin and ammonia. Wipe the fabric with the resulting mixture, then pat it with a damp cloth to remove any dirt.
How to wash cashmere at home
Unfasten, if any, all fur trim. If this is not possible, you will have to unfasten the fur and sew it in place at the end of the cleaning.
Before you put the coat on the washing machine, remove all the jewelry: brooches, buttons and other metal objects. In the process of washing, they can both ruin the cashmere and spoil themselves, covered with rust. To maintain the shape of the product, turn it inside out and fasten.
