What is warmer in shoes: wool or fur

Every year, with the onset of cold weather, many people are puzzled by the purchase of winter shoes. And before them the question arises - what kind of lining will be better? Indeed, to give the product heat, three types of insulation are used. This is a sheepskin, faux fur made of natural wool and just faux fur. Each of them has its pros and cons.

What is warmer in shoes - fur or wool?

In order to answer this question, you need to learn more about each of the insulation materials, as well as find out what advantages and disadvantages they have.

Properties of wool in shoes

The most popular material used in the manufacture of shoes is sheepskin. Unlike the sheepskin, which is used for sewing clothes, the option for shoes is not so dense. Sheepskin is also very popular among buyers, because it is comfortable and has an attractive appearance, and also has a number of other advantages. It:

  • Sheepskin fibers, due to their structure, create a layer of warm air. This allows you to provide heat and dryness;
  • The material is completely natural, not capable of causing allergies or redness on the skin. Also, various microorganisms that can harm human health do not start on the sheepskin;
  • Sheepskin has anti-inflammatory properties. Its constituents provide an antiseptic effect. And thanks to the lanolin, which is contained in the hairs of the hair, the swelling of the lower extremities is removed;
  • Hygroscopicity. Sheepskin is rather difficult to get wet. It can remain dry even with prolonged exposure to water;

The disadvantages of the sheepskin include:

  • High price. This is the most expensive lining material;
  • Low wear resistance. In the process of wearing, the sheepskin begins to get trampled and hatched, due to which it loses its heat-saving properties;

Fur Properties

The fur that is used to warm shoes is natural and artificial.

Artificial

This is a fully synthetic material that only mimics a natural product. It consists of a base and a pile. Despite the fact that this is faux fur, it has been very popular among buyers recently. This is due to the following:

  • Low cost in comparison with a natural analogue;
  • It is completely environmentally friendly;
  • In appearance it is not inferior to natural products;
  • It can be painted in various colors, which can serve as an excellent decoration for shoes;
  • It is enough to simply look after him;

However, it has a significant drawback. Since this is a synthetic material, it is airtight and the skin in it does not breathe, which leads to increased sweating.

Woolen

It is 80% natural wool, and the remaining 20% synthetic fiber.

Thanks to this combination, all the advantages of natural fiber are preserved, while it is given additional strength.

Woolen fur has the following advantages:

  • Hygroscopicity. Fiber perfectly retains moisture;
  • It allows the skin to breathe;
  • Since sheepskin is used in the production, the fur has the same antibacterial properties, and also contains lanolin, which relaxes the leg muscles;
  • Due to the presence of synthetic fiber, such products are characterized by excellent wear resistance;
  • The material is very light, which reduces the weight of the products;
  • It is cheaper than a natural sheepskin;

Such shoes will be a great option for all motorists, as it is lightweight, and the foot will not sweat.

As you can see, the material does not have drawbacks, so it is optimal when choosing shoes.

Whichever of the three materials is used in boots, the most important thing when buying is to pay attention to the smell of shoes. If high-quality materials are used in the production, and insulation, including the product, will not emit a strong chemical smell.
