Satin Ribbon Star

Making home decor with your own hands is a pleasant experience after a difficult working day or a variant of the child’s entertainment. Often, decor does not require financial investments. Almost all houses have remnants of ribbons, beads, sequins from old gifts or unused stocks purchased.

Satin ribbon star as a decoration element

A star from a satin can serve as a Christmas decoration on a Christmas tree or as a table decoration. If you connect several stars, you get a garland to decorate a window or door.

But not always an asterisk is a symbol of the New Year. It can be part of a marine composition or serve as a decoration for a gift.

How to make a beautiful star from a satin ribbon?

There are several ways to make a Christmas tree decoration . The first and one of the simple ones is using a ribbon and 5 bamboo sticks.

Build Order:

  1. Each stick is sharpened on two sides at an angle. Then they are glued together in turn at an acute angle, so that in the end a five-pointed and familiar star is formed. The wooden structure is allowed to dry.
  2. After that, you can start winding the tape. It is not recommended to use slippery and satin material, which will constantly slip.
  3. Winding the ribbon starts from the edge of the beam, towards the middle. Then it is transferred to an adjacent beam and moves to the tip. If the material nevertheless slides, the joints with sticks are coated with glue.
  4. A similar procedure is carried out with all the rays. The tape from the fifth ray is transferred to the middle of the star.
  5. After that, the product can be decorated with bows, beads or sequins. If it will be hung on a Christmas tree, then you need to tie a small thread.

If you brought seashells, pebbles or plants from the sea, you can make a marine composition, photo frame or box. You can supplement all this with starfish from the atlas.

Tapes are suitable for a width of 4-5 cm.

  1. The ribbon is folded across, forming a small square.
  2. A ribbon is cut diagonally from the top of the fold. The result is an isosceles triangle. A total of 5 such triangles are required.
  3. Each triangle is folded in half and a fold line is drawn, after which they are placed face to the table and the top down.
  4. Each side of the triangle begins to curl toward the middle. It can be fixed temporarily with a tailor's pin.
  5. After both sides are twisted, the protruding twisted edges are trimmed.
  6. The beam is folded in half and the bottom cut is seared to glue.
  7. After they are connected together into a star and stitched.
  8. Starfish can be decorated with beads.

A five-pointed star from a satin ribbon can be made in another way:

  1. A 6 cm long tape is cut off and folded in half.
  2. The line from the corners where the tape is connected is drawn straight to the middle of the side. The resulting triangle is cut off.
  3. The cut is treated with a lighter.
  4. Then the part unfolds and one petal of the star is obtained.
  5. In total, 5 such parts are needed that are connected with a glue gun or stitched together.
  6. The middle of the star can be decorated with a small application or embroidered with beads.

Little stars from satin ribbon

From the atlas, small stars are obtained, which are used for wrapping gifts. This will require about 12 squares of satin ribbon with sides 5 * 5 cm.

Less use is not recommended, as the stars will turn out to be inexpressive and difficult to assemble.

  1. The split ends of the workpieces are seared with a lighter.
  2. Each square is bent diagonally, and then one corner is bent again to the middle.
  3. The resulting slice is treated with a lighter to glue the part.
  4. After all the parts are ready, you can proceed to the assembly of the product. Each detail is put into the pocket of the other and glued with a glue gun.
  5. The middle of the stars is decorated with a bead or rhinestones. Tapes can be glued to the back.

A small star can be made using a template without using glue.

To do this, you need to make a template, wrap it sequentially with tape, pull out the template and fix the middle with a bead.

The template is made in the following order:

  1. Draw two perpendicular intersecting lines. The length of the line is the diameter of the finished product.
  2. The right angle of the resulting cross is divided in half by a segment of the same length. As a result, we get 8 peaks of the future star.
  3. Each vertex is connected to the other through 2 vertices.
  4. The resulting star is cut out and used as a template.

To make such stars is very easy, even a child will cope with them. But, as in other types of needlework, patience and accuracy are necessary here. If you are doing the craft for the first time, take the material with a margin to be able to make a trial version.
