How to sew a hole in the glove

What gloves you will not meet today: knitted, suede, leather, with fur and even heated! There are an incredible number of models, but all have one thing in common - they always break at the most inopportune moment. However, this is no reason to part with your favorite accessory. A good housewife knows that repairing gloves is possible and necessary. And to do this is not difficult at all.

How to sew knitted gloves

To repair knitted gloves, it is not necessary to use a sewing machine. A thin needle and a single thread in the color of the product will be enough.

Suture restoration

If the product has split apart, a new blind seam can be used.

  • The first puncture with a needle is done from the wrong side so that the bundle of thread remains invisible. You should also step back a little from the edge of the hole so that in the future the fabric again “does not creep out” in different directions.
  • We begin to make short stitches along the seam line, alternately on each side of the product.
  • First, make a stitch parallel to the seam (no more than 2 mm) on one side, stretch the thread.
  • Then repeat the same stitch on the other side.

IMPORTANT! The stitches on both sides should be the same size and should be in a strictly straight line. Otherwise, the finished seam will turn out uneven.

Finger Knit Repair

If the hole was formed not at the seam, but on the fabric itself, another variant of the blind seam will help you. As in the previous version, stitches are made on both sides of the hole . But now they should be arranged not parallel, but perpendicular to the line of discontinuity .

Having departed from a hole of 1 mm, we make a small grip on the fabric with a needle. Pull the thread and mirror the same stitch on the other side. Such a seam will be neat and barely noticeable.

How to repair leather gloves

Sew the glove

Leather gloves can be repaired in two ways. The first is suitable for those who do not have a suitable piece of skin in stock. In this case, the torn place on the glove should be glued to the fabric lining. And from above lay a zigzag seam on the typewriter along the break line .

IMPORTANT! The skin should be stitched very carefully! Make sure that the thread does not give a big tightness to the product, otherwise the skin will burst again soon.

Glue the patch

If you find a suitable piece of skin, you can seal the damaged area on the glove. To do this, cut the skin a little larger in size than the hole to be hidden.

IMPORTANT! To repair leather products, it is better to use a transparent glue or adhesive gel. Such glue will not be visible, even if it leaks out.

After the glue dries, all you have to do is to lay a neat stitch in a zigzag line along the leather patch.

This option for repairing leather gloves will be more accurate and reliable than the first.
