Let us consider in detail how to carve and sew with your own hands a caps for adults or children (for a holiday or matinee).

Selection of materials and tools

The main criterion for selection is the density of matter . Soft, flowing material will not give clear concise folds that are inherent in any style of cap, so we sweep them immediately.

They will suit us:

  • cloth;
  • dense linen, cotton;
  • felt;
  • drape;
  • suede.

Tools required:

  • sewing machine;
  • scissors;
  • measuring tape;
  • a piece of chalk.

In addition, you will need an adhesive pad.

Reference! The headdress is a slightly flattened hat, it was part of the uniforms of the armed forces of different countries. At the moment, part of the uniforms of stewardesses of many airlines, restaurant chefs. Headgear of some children's organizations.

We sew different types of caps

Pioneer cap

According to this scheme, the cap is sewn from two-sided fabric, without a pronounced wrong side. If you have other material, then make the lapel stitch.

Working process:

  1. Determine the circumference of the head.
  2. Choose the height of the cap.
  3. We build a rectangle with a width equal to the circumference of the head, plus 0.5 cm to fit. The height is equal to the height of the cap, plus the height of the lapel.
  4. We cut out, not forgetting the seam allowances.
  5. Decorate with emblems, badges as desired.
  6. Sew the side seams to the lapel.
  7. We turn off the bottom cut, turn it up and lay a line.
  8. We carry out the lapel.
  9. We are smoothing.
