In modern interiors, author's dolls are used as a prestigious and original decor. The outfit should sit perfectly on the toy client. To do this, you need a mannequin. You can make it in various ways.

Cardboard doll mannequin

An easy way to make beautiful mannequins is to hang outfits for a small Barbie-sized doll. From the materials you will need:

  • cardboard;
  • hot glue;
  • acrylic paint;
  • wooden skewer for barbecue;
  • cap with a plastic bottle;
  • doll.

The tool is used ordinary, available in every home: pencil, scissors, awl and brush.

Put the doll without clothes on the cardboard and circle it: shoulders and on the sides from the arms to the middle of the thigh. Draw spaces with smooth lines. The resulting contour is cut out, checked for symmetry and used as a template. Then the mannequin will turn out equal. The number of cardboard parts is even. It depends on the thickness of the cardboard. Stacked fragments, plus the thickness of the skewer, are approximately equal to the body of the doll, if you look at it from the side.

Divide the cardboard fragments in half and glue each stack along the contour. Then apply glue to the skewer and putting it inside, connect the halves. Let the glue dry. Trim irregularities with scissors, aligning the shape.

The stand can be made from any plastic cork. With the help of an awl or a thick sewing needle, a hole is made in the center. A skewer is inserted into it and fixed with hot-melt adhesive. The upper part can be decorated with a large bead.

Now it needs to be decorated. For this, acrylic paint is used. It does not contain harmful substances and is safe for the child. The paint is applied in a thin layer several times.

After complete drying, decor is added to the stand. Beads, beads, bows are used. It is difficult to sew a dress for a doll on such a mannequin . This is a great hanger to demonstrate the outfits of your favorite toy.

Wax and plaster mannequins

At home, you can copy any form using plaster and wax. Materials are easily formed, do not require special skills to work with them.

The method is suitable for a doll, in which you can remove the hands and head. The body is tightly wrapped with cling film. Gypsum is poured into the water and mixed. The composition should be like thick sour cream. Apply a uniform layer of gypsum to the body wrapped in a film and allow it to harden. For strength, it is advisable to use a bandage, alternate it with layers of solution. The gypsum itself is fragile and quickly breaks.

After 15 minutes, carefully cut the chain mail and take the cast. The halves are tightly connected with the help of a pharmaceutical patch. Molten paraffin from a candle or wax is poured into the formed form. The skewer is inserted. After cooling, the gypsum is removed. You can do several dummies one cast.

You can stick needles into a mannequin made of wax, and adjust the outfits exactly to the figure. In this case, he will not last long . But there is experience on how to make doll figures and the plaster form remains.

A method of manufacturing from old puppeteers

Previously, puppet theater artists themselves made their heroes. They sculpted their heads from clay. Later they began to use plasticine. Then they tear the newspaper into small pieces. Wet the paper in water and cover it with a figure. Then, 4–5 more layers of paper were applied to the doll’s head using a paste — flour boiled in water.

After drying, the paper head was cut "behind the ears." The mannequin halves were connected, strips glued on top and painted.

Before making a papier-mâché doll mannequin, the body is smeared with face cream. Then the paper will easily peel off.

You can make a puppet mannequin in this way without disassembling them for parts. The inner void is filled with foam. Given the large expansion of the material, only half should be poured. A skewer or other stick is inserted immediately. After the foam has hardened, this is difficult to do.

It can also be painted or covered with cloth. Old tights and knee-highs are well suited for this.

Sewn figure for doll

For its manufacture you need materials:

  • dense soft tissue;
  • holofiber;
  • cardboard;
  • rod and stand.

First, a pattern is made. The doll is encircled lying on its back and sideways. Parts are transferred to a dense and soft fabric, such as thin drape, cashmere. It is desirable to arrange the elements along the fiber. 2 are cut with an allowance for seams. The following is located: the front opposite the back, the sides are between them.

After preliminary sweeping, you can put the seams on top of the doll and fit exactly the figure. The stitched case is turned out and stuffed tightly with holofiber. It can be bought at the store or replaced with slices of finely chopped synthetic winterizer.

An oval is cut out of thick cardboard, equal to the volume of the hips of the figure and slightly larger from the drape. This is the flat bottom edge of the mannequin. A hole is made in the cardboard for the rod. Then everything is sewn or glued, if difficult to sew, below. A stand is being made.

The advantages of a sewn mannequin for a doll, in the ability to stick needles into it. He repeats the forms of the model and looks like a real one. The outfits created with his help sit perfectly. Lack of manufacturing complexity for small dolls. It’s difficult to work with small elements, you need skills.
