How to dry sneakers quickly

Wet sneakers are a typical problem in the off-season, during heavy rains or after washing. Wet shoes can lead to serious health problems and never bring comfort to life.

However, this problem can be solved. Mankind has several ways to quickly dry sneakers!

Let's talk about this in more detail today.

Special commercial shoe dryers

Electronic shoe dryers began to appear on the markets relatively recently and immediately attracted attention with their efficiency and low cost. The principle of operation of an electronic dryer is based on heating elements that evaporate excess moisture from within the shoe.

The heating elements have limitations on the maximum temperature, which allows you not to spoil the shoes and effectively rid them of moisture. Also, shoes after drying become warm and pleasant to the feet, and get rid of fungi that may live in places of moisture accumulation (between insoles, inside the sole and others).

Simply insert two heating elements (one for each shoe) into the shoes and connect it to the power supply - the drying process has started! After a while, the shoes are completely dried and ready to wear again!

Household appliances for drying shoes

If there is no commercial dryer at hand, ordinary household appliances that can perform this task will come to the rescue.

Hair dryer

A hair dryer will be able to pump heated air, increasing the overall temperature of the shoe, which will lead to the rapid evaporation of water. Also, you can dry the outside of the sneakers with a hairdryer, or otherwise control this process.

Keep the hair dryer at a sufficient distance so that the air flow can pass through the hair dryer heating chamber (the device itself), otherwise you risk overheating it and engaging the disconnection mechanisms from the network (automatic security system).

Fan

A fan can help you dry your sneakers perfectly.

Hang the shoes by the laces in front of the air stream and wait until they are completely dry. The advantage of this method is that this process will require minimal monitoring from the outside - this method is the safest.

Try to open your sneakers as much as possible to make it easier for the air to evaporate moisture. It will be useful to put moisture under the sneaker where possible, a towel or a regular newspaper that will absorb it and will not stain the floor or carpet.

A vacuum cleaner

Many vacuum cleaners have a function of reverse traction, which will allow you to "blow out" moisture. This will speed up the overall drying process.

Insert the hose from the vacuum cleaner into the shoe, and turn on the appliance. Try to hold the hose - it can fly off and drying will be ineffective and inactive (nothing will change).

It is recommended to set the minimum blowing mode on the vacuum cleaner, which will make it easier to control this process.

From the board:

- For better drying, try to completely remove the insoles and remove the laces, which will allow the air stream to penetrate better inside the shoe. The insoles are best dried separately, as are the laces. This tip is universal for any domestic or commercial dryer!

Folk (improvised) means

"Folk remedies" involve accelerating the drying process and offer tools that will maximize moisture extraction.

Typically, such methods include placing a means inside the shoe that absorbs moisture (temporary “tampon”) and placing shoes where the temperature is higher than room temperature (underfloor heating, water return pipe, gas boilers, etc.).

Means that can absorb moisture:

  • Newspaper;
  • Cat litter;
  • An ordinary rag or towel.

Leave the sneakers warm with the selected filler and after a while they will become dry!

We hope that these tips can protect you from unpleasant situations with wet shoes!
